The Mental Health Review Tribunal for Wales is a statutory organisation established under the Mental Health Act 1983 as amended by the Mental Health Act 2007.
The tribunal is independent of government. The Mental Health Review Tribunal for Wales hears applications and references for patients who are detained or subject to certain orders made under the Mental Health Act. Our function is to review the cases of patients who are detained or living in the community subject to a conditional discharge, community treatment or guardianship order.
